Assistant Engineer wanted in connection with the construction of a large reservoir, &c. for the City & Hill District Water Works. Age 25- 30. The officer should be unmarried. To be appointed on a 5-years' Agreement. The officer should have had a good general training as & Civil Engineer and must have had experience in the construction of water works and more especially of masonry dans.

£360 per annum + £140 per annum duty pay: the latter to be drawn only whilst actually on duty. Salary voted annually and paid in ac- cordance with the Government Regulations on the subject. As it is not intended that the appointment should become a permanent one, no reference should be made to any incremental scale of salary, but provision should be made for the retention of the officer's services after the expiry of his Agreement, in case they are required.
